FIBA Basketball World Cup Betting Tips & Predictions
Any tip or prediction you see are of course going to back the USA to win the title. With the likes of James Harden, Kyle Lowry and Andre Drummond in their side, very few are going to be able to compete.
They’ll be of course a useful side to include in any basketball accumulators you make, while if you’re looking at moneyline on individual games, you’re best combining your odds with one of the markets above to boost your odds further, as they will be heavy favourites in every game they play.
The likes of Spain and Serbia will prove good value in their pursuit of the Finals. We expect them to once again reach the latter stages of the tournament and would perhaps take a free bet on the Serbians to make successive World Cup Finals.
Elsewhere, we see Canada making it through the initial Group Stage, and we’d certainly have a wager on them reaching the Quarter Final given their group.
FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Schedule
The 2019 FIBA World Cup is going to be the biggest in its history, with 32 teams taking part for the very first time.
The tournament begins on August 31, 2019 with the Final being held on September 15 in Beijing. Games will be held across eight host cities, including:
Across the tournament, teams will play in three separate stages to reach the final, as well as a stage for those knocked out to classify positions 17 to 31.
This will begin with a First Group Stage, with two teams from each group qualifying for a Second Group Stage.
Again, two teams will qualify and a final eight will go through to the Quarter Finals, before a Semi Final and Finals to crown the champion.
The schedule for the tournament has already been decided, with each stage taking place across the following dates:
First Group Stage: August 31, 2019 to September 5.
Second Group Stage: September 7-9, 2019
17-32 Classification: 7-9 September, 2019
Quarter Finals: September 10-11, 2019
Semi Finals: September 13, 2019
Final: September 15, 2019
Third Place Game: September 15, 2019
FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 – Canada Team
The Canadian basketball team will be buoyed by the success of the Raptors in the NBA and having had a successful qualifying campaign will be keen to reach the latter stages of the tournament.
They’ll have a bolstered squad, with the likes of Andrew Wiggins, Dwight Powell and Tristan Thompson set to be in the team now the NBA season has finished. This could give them the impetus to really go on and do well.
Qualification from the initial Group Stage should be a given, and we’d back them to finish top, ahead of Australia, Senegal and Japan, while we can see the side making it through the second group phase as well.
The Quarter Finals is perhaps where we can see the nation come unstuck. Canada have never medalled at the tournament, and with Spain, Serbia and the USA looking strong, we think it might be a step too far again for them this year.
