Grizzlies vs. Lakers Match Preview & Betting Odds 2018/19
December 23, 2018
After losing their last two games, the Lakers (19-13) were able to get back on the right side of the scoreboard with a win over a 112-14 win over the New Orleans Pelicans Friday night. They will look to make it two in a row and seven in a row at home Sunday night when they take on the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies (16-16) started the season on the right foot going 12-5 but have gone 4-11. Against the Lakers, they will try to bring their current five-game losing streak to an end.
The two teams met earlier this month in Memphis and saw the Lakers run away with that one, 111-88. Mike Conley and Marc Gasol both had terrible nights from the floor for the Grizzlies with just 23 points between them.
Memphis has continued to struggle on offence failing to score 100 points in the seven games since they last played the Lakers. They rank second to last in scoring with an average score of 101.8 this season. The Lakers are one of the higher scoring teams (No. 8) in the league this season averaging 113.3 points/game.
So—who’s going to win?
The Lakers are not exactly trending upwards having lost three of their last five. But they are scoring points this season. Memphis, on the other hand, is struggling to score points and can’t seem to slow teams down very well either.
As poorly as the Grizzlies are playing, it is hard to imagine them beating the Lakers. Take the Lakers to win, straight up and against the spread. As for the over/under, take the under.
