Knicks vs. Celtics Match Preview & Betting Odds 2018/19
December 06, 2018
The Boston Celtics (13-10) have had some real struggles this season. However, if the last three games are any indication, they could be coming out of it (wins by 17, 33 and nine points). Over that stretch, they have led the NBA in scoring per possession (1.246 points/possession).
What’s the difference? According to some of the players, the preseason hype had gotten to some guys. Because of that, some guys were playing for themselves and not the team. But that is not the case anymore.

It also helps that Gordon Hayward appears to be getting closer and closer to regaining his pre-injury form.
As for the Knicks (8-17), new head coach David Fizdale has struggled to find the perfect lineup this season (minus an injured Kristaps Porzingis). It doesn’t help that his roster is not the most talented in the league and lacks a primary scoring threat.
So—who’s going to win?
If the Knicks can play like they have been the last three games, they should have little trouble winning this game. They have been scoring, on average, over 120 points a night while holding teams under 110 points.
The Knicks did beat the Celtics by eight just a few weeks ago. But this Boston team is much better than the one the Knicks faced then. This Knicks team has lost three of its last four.
Take the Celtics to win over the Knicks. But 12.5 points seems a little much; take the Knicks and the points. As for the over/under—take the over.
