Rockets vs. Jazz Match Preview & Betting Odds 2018/19
December 17, 2018
This will be the third meeting for the Rockets (14-14) and Jazz (14-16) this season. Utah won both previous games, 100-89 back in October, and 118-91 earlier this month. However, the Rockets are not the same team the Jazz faced in October or even earlier this month.
Defence has been an issue for the Rockets all season. But ever since they got assistant coach Jeff Bzdelik back, they have been improving.
Luckily, they also have one of the best offences in the league as well—at least they have ever since they benched Carmelo Anthony. But it would be good if it didn’t rely so much on James Harden who had his second triple-double in a row in Houston’s last game.
But the Jazz are one of the better defensive teams in the league. In the game earlier this month, the Jazz defence was too much for Houston forcing 23 turnovers. They held Harden to just 15 points.
So—who’s going to win?
This could be a real test for the Rockets. Can their defence keep improving? Can their offence survive a tough defensive team like the Jazz? If they can limit Harden’s turnovers and hit their three-pointers, then yes.
The Jazz are coming off a loss to the Orlando Magic where they shot an abysmal 31.5 percent from the field. That could mean they are due to bounce back or if Houston can get on top early, they will fold.
Take the Rockets to win straight up. But don’t be shocked if this game is closer than the last two—take Utah and the points. As for the over/under—go with the under.
