Rockets vs. Timberwolves Match Preview & Betting Odds 2018/19
December 03, 2018
This year’s Houston Rockets (11-11) are definitely not the same as last year’s, but they still have the makings of a contending team. Their defence is not as good as it was, which may mean they have to score more. With the shooters they have, that will not be an issue on most nights.
But they have struggled at times this season due to injury issues and a lack of depth. However, they appear to be healthy at the moment and will take a two-game winning streak into Monday night’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves (11-12).
The Timberwolves saw a four-game winning streak come to an end Saturday night against the Boston Celtics and will want to start a new streak Monday night against Houston. With six guys averaging in double figures, they should be able to spread Houston’s defence thin and take advantage of it.

So—who’s going to win?
While it is great that the Timberwolves have so many guys that are contributing. But what they don’t have is a clear-cut, go-to guy with Jimmy Butler gone. Houston has two guys that can fill that role, James Harden and Chris Paul.
The two teams are about as evenly matched as they come. Houston averages 110 points/game; Minnesota averages 109.8. Houston’s opponents are averaging 109.8; Minnesota’s 110.5.
This will be an exciting, high-scoring game. Look for James Harden to take over the game in the fourth quarter to secure the win for the Rockets. Take Houston to win, straight up and against the spread. As for the over/under—take the over.
