76ers vs. Heat Match Preview & Betting Odds 2018/19
November 12, 2018
The stage is set for the Miami Heat (5-7) to get a much-needed win Monday night against the Philadelphia 76ers (8-6). With Dwyane Wade on paternity leave, they have been missing a key player. But the absence of Wade doesn’t explain the defensive collapse they had in the last two games.
They let the Pacers go on a 12-0 run to end Friday night’s game and lost by eight. The following night, the Wizards went on a 31-12 run to start the fourth quarter. Miami made it look a little better in the end by closing the game with a 13-2 run, but the defensive lapse had already done them in.
But they may be able to afford a little lapse against the 76ers Monday night. With the Jimmy Buttler trade going down over the weekend, the 76ers are going to be minus two starters, Dario Saric and Robert Covington.
In their place, the team is expected to use Markelle Fultz more and start rookie Shamet Landry. Both have been averaging over 20 minutes a game. Fultz has chipped in nine points a game and Landry seven.

Can the Heat get one over on the weakened 76ers?
On paper, they probably should be able to get the win. But even shorthanded, the 76ers will have more talent on the court in Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, and JJ Reddick. It should be fun to watch Hassan Whiteside and Embiid battle under the boards.
Take the 76ers to win straight up and against the spread. When it comes to the over/under, neither lineup can be trusted to do its part. Take the under.
