Bills vs. Texans Match Preview & Betting Odds 2018/19

Right when you start to think the NFL is making sense, the Buffalo Bills have to go and beat someone else. On paper, they are not a good team at all; there are too many holes on the roster to even count. But yet they beat the heavily favoured Minnesota Vikings a couple of weeks ago. Last week they beat a Tennessee Titans team that was coming off an overtime win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

So, are the Bills really not that bad after all? Could they possibly give the Houston Texans a game this week?

Houston’s Deshaun Watson is definitely much more polished then Josh Allen, and he (Watson) is still pretty raw himself. But he can make things happen which is something Allen has yet to figure out how to do.

However, with all the injuries that have hit the Texans secondary this season, maybe this could be the week the Josh Allen the Bills hope they drafted shows up. That is if his offensive line can give him enough time to throw—which will not be easy with Houston’s talented front seven.

Then again, the Texans only have 13 sacks on the season (good enough for t-13th). But the Bills have allowed a league-high 22, so maybe the Texans climb the ranks this week.

So—who’s going to win?

Buffalo has won because they have been opportunistic. Turnovers set the Bills up for ten of 13 points against Tennessee and ten of 27 against Minnesota. Watson does tend to commit his share of turnovers, but the Texans offence is good enough to overcome them.

Take the Texans (-345) to win over the Bills (+275) and cover the spread (8.5).
