Cardinals vs. Vikings Match Preview & Betting Odds 2018/19
October 10, 2018
This one might make people a little nervous. On the surface, it appears to be a no-brainer. Of course, the Vikings are going to win; they are probably going to win pretty easily. But that was what everyone thought a few weeks ago when the Vikings were heavy favourites over the Buffalo Bills—and we all know what happened that week.
But since that terrible loss, the Vikings appear to have learned from their mistakes. The defence has been playing with more intensity and has looked more like the dominant unit they had last season. That was certainly the case against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Vikings run game still leaves something to be desired, but Kirk Cousins has the passing game working well enough. But it is not like the Cardinals defence has been good at stopping anyone. They won their first game in Week Five but gave up over 400 yards of offence to an offence led by C.J. Beathard.
Arizona’s offence is still a work in progress with Josh Rosen at the helm. He has shown some moments of promise, but not enough to make defensive coordinators nervous. But the Bills were in a similar situation with Josh Allen when they upset the Vikings.
So—who’s going to win?
It is hard to imagine a scenario where the Cardinals have a chance. The Vikings defence has found its swagger once again. While the offence is struggling to run the ball, their passing game is one of the best in the league.
Take the Vikings (-500) to win over the Cardinals (+423) and cover the spread (10.5). As for the over/under (43)— take the over.
