Cowboys vs. Eagles Match Preview & Betting Odds 2018/19
November 08, 2018
It has not been the kind of season either team envisioned it would be. But with no one in the division really standing out, all either the Cowboys or Eagles need is a modest winning streak to gain control. Of course, any good winning streak has to start with the first win.
Jason Garrett, asked if there’s a scenario where he’d take over play calling: “Right now, Scott Linehan is going to call the plays for the offense.” #cowboyswire— David Helman (@HelmanDC) November 6, 2018
The Eagles got there’s last week. But can Dallas end the Eagles streak before it starts?
The Cowboys defense is certainly capable of shutting down the Eagles offense. Their run defense should have no problem stifling Wendall Smallwood forcing Carson Went to pass early and often. With the cast of characters Wentz was working with, Dallas would have a good shot.
But the addition of Golden Tate to the Eagles offense could change that dynamic up.

Philadelphia will still need to stop the Dallas offense. But with how Scott Linehan is calling plays, that isn’t hard. They will run Ezekiel Elliot on first down and then try to short to intermediate routes before punting.
If last week is any indication, then Linehan doesn’t know how to use Amari Cooper.
Dallas had been playing great at home and poorly on the road. After the stinker at home against the Titans, will the pattern flip? Could they play well enough in Philly to steal the win?

Look for the Cowboys to double Golden Tate as much as they can and force Wentz to rely on the guys that prompted the need to trade for Tate. But the Dallas offense is terrible and will struggle again. Take the Eaglses to win and cover the spread.
When it comes to the over/under, there will barely be enough offense generate 30 points let alone 44.5.
