Jaguars vs. Titans Match Preview & Betting Odds 2018/19

Last week, against the red-hot Indianapolis Colts, the Jaguars defence finally woke up and played like the dominant unit they were last season. Andrew Luck had been on fire for the last two months, but they kept him out of the end zone.

Marcos Mariota struggled to get the Titans offence on track against the Jets last week. But Mariota was able to get the offence on track and win the game in the second half.

However, if the Jaguars defence that showed up against the Colts, Mariota will not have the luxury of waiting until the second half to heat up. The Titans will probably not have to worry too much about the Jaguars offence. But their defence has the kind of playmakers that can score off turnovers.

Spread: Titans by 3.5

The last time these two met, the Titans won by three. This time, Mariota is going to start, and the Jags are going with Cody Kessler. This will be another close one, but the Titans will cover the spread.

Over/Under: 37

As small as the total is here, the smart bet is still the under. Jacksonville can’t be counted on for much no matter who plays quarterback. Marcos Mariota often takes a half just to warm up, and if the Jags defence shows up, he may never get going.

Money line: Jaguars +183; Titans -222

If you could trust the Jaguars defence to play as well as they did last week, picking them would be easy—but you can’t. Tennessee’s offence isn’t great, but as long as Mariota doesn’t make too many mistakes, Tennessee will be fine. Take the Titans to win over the Jaguars.
