Rams vs. Broncos Match Preview & Betting Odds 2018/19
October 10, 2018
The Denver Broncos were hoping Case Keenum would be the answer to their QB woes when they acquired him in the offseason. To be fair, the jury is still out on whether he is the answer they’ve been looking for. He did a great job leading them to come from behind wins in Week One and Two. But he was ineffective in Week Three and Four.
While he threw for 377 yards against the Jets in Week Five, they still lost, 34-16. But that wasn’t his fault. The normally tough defence was gashed by the Jets running game for 323 yards.
They’ll certainly need a better effort out of their defence against the Rams this week. It remains to be seen if the Rams will have either Cooper Kupp or Brandin Cooks (both left Week Five with concussion symptoms).
If both are out, the Broncos better get ready for a healthy dose of Todd Gurley and Robert Woods.
Of course, the best thing the Broncos could do would be to get their own run game going. They appear to have a good rookie tandem in the backfield, Royce Freeman and Phillip Lindsay. But they can’t seem to establish any continuity in the run game.
So—who’s going to win?
The Rams have been susceptible to the run this season, but with how the Broncos are calling plays this season, it is hard to believe they’ll make an honest effort to establish the run. For that reason, with or without Cooks and Kupp, the Rams offence is going to thrive.
Take the Rams to win (-300) over the Broncos (+264) and cover the spread. As for the over/under—go with the over.
