The Tennessee Titans will be hosting the L.A. Rams this Sunday as 7.0 point underdogs on the spread and both teams have quite a bit on the line this weekend. Below you will find spread, total, and money line odds for the week 16 Rams vs. Titans game as well as a full betting preview. The Tennessee Titans started off the season well, but have had troubles in the last few weeks. They’ve lost their last two games in a row and now sit a full two games behind the Jaguars in the AFC South. Recent record aside, however, where things really start to look troublesome for the Titans this week is with their offence. They are going up against one of the most awesome offensive forces in the NFL right now and rank 19th overall in this year’s offensive standings. That ranking is earned from a points average of 21 points per game and a lot of that result can be put squarely upon the shoulders of young quarterback Marcus Mariota. Mariota was supposed to be much further along in his maturement by this point, but that plan has failed to pan out. This season he’s actually thrown more picks than touchdowns and on only three occasions this season has he managed to secure more than a single touchdown pass in a game. The only bit of good news coming out of the Titans’ camp is their at home record. The Titans have been absolutely unbeatable at home, winning each of their last five home starts and that should give them a good bit of confidence heading into Sunday’s game. If you can’t have talent or confidence on your side, the least you can get is a bit of support from the home town crowd.
The Rams, on the other hand, are looking extremely good coming into this match up. They’ve won three out of their last four starts and most recently put an absolute whooping onto the Seattle Seahawks. They defeated Seattle by a score of 42 to 7 and proved once again just how powerful their offence is. Todd Gurley was the hero of that game, rushing for 152 yards and notching three touchdowns, and his performance was not all that much of an anomaly. Gurley has rushed for more than 1,100 yards this season and has put away 13 touchdowns on the season. To put that number into perspective, Gurley has more touchdowns than Mariota has touchdown passes in 2017. Things start to look even better for the Rams when you look at their road record. They’ve dominated both straight up and against the spread and leave little doubt that they can overcome the 7.0 point deficit afforded by Bet365. They’ve won 6 out of their last 7 against the spread and 5 out of their last 6 straight up. The Titans, as we mentioned earlier, definitely have a home record to be reckoned with, but given the Rams’ other advantages, it’s hard to put them in the weak position here.
As for the betting trends on this one. There aren’t a lot of Canadian sports bettors that believe the Titans can pull this one off. Right now approximately 66% of the betting public is siding with the favourites. As for the experts, they are in agreement with the fans. There are only three hold outs on the CBS Sports pick and prediction panel that believe the Titans can win with a 7.0 point head start.
