Canada had few problems in their quarter-final tie this year, as they comfortably saw off Slovakia on Thursday afternoon with a 6-1 victory, helped by a four-goal blitz in the second period.
Canada’s goals came from Barrett Hayton (who scored twice), Connor McMichael, Jacob Bernard-Docker, Liam Foudy and Alexis Lafreniere, while Joel Hofer made 17 saves.
The game also marked the return of key player Lafreniere, who had missed the best part of three games with a knee injury.

Finland, the defending champions, had a much tougher task in their quarter-final against the USA, the team they beat in the gold medal game a year ago. The Finns again came out on top though, winning 1-0 in a predictably tight encounter.
The only goal of the game was scored by Joonas Oden in the third period, while Justus Annunen made 30 saves for Finland.
Canada vs Finland IIHF Betting Lines & Pick
This looks set to be a highly competitive game when it comes to predictions. Finland weren’t always convincing in the group stage and memories of the 6-0 routing to Russia will still be fresh in Canadian minds. With Lafreniere back on the roster, we see Canada just edging this and they are therefore the tips.
