Columbus Blue Jackets vs Toronto Maple Leafs Prediction & Betting Odds- NHL Picks
October 04, 2019
There’s early-season NHL action between the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Nationwide Arena on Friday evening.
This is the opening game of the regular season for Columbus, who have undergone some major changes to their roster since last season.
In particular, the departures of winger Artemi Panarin and goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky are significant losses for the Blue Jackets, but they have also been weakened by the exits of Matt Duchene, Ryan Dzingel, Keith Kinkaid and Adam McQuaid.
There are undoubtedly question marks over who will succeed Bobrovsky, with Joonas Korpisalo never having really convinced as yet when previously called upon to deputise for the Russian and Elvis Merzlikins being something of an unknown quantity. Korpisalo is the likely starter against the Maple Leafs and is set to face a tough baptism.

Blue Jackets vs Maple Leafs Betting Lines & Picks
In terms of the NHL betting for this game, no odds are currently available as the Maple Leafs were in action on Wednesday night when they started their season by hosting the Ottawa Senators on home-ice at the Scotiabank Arena.
Expectations are high in Toronto this season and with three forwards of the quality of Auston Matthews, John Tavares and Mitch Marner on the roster, they are justifiably among the favourites for the Stanley Cup.
There are always a few surprise results at the start of the season in any sport, which makes it difficult when making bet predictions. However, the Toronto forward line, coupled with the overhaul of the roster at Columbus, means the Maple Leafs have to be the tip to win this game on the Money Line when available at the likes of Sports Interaction, bet365 and Betway Sports.
NHL Betting Pick: Money Line – Toronto Maple Leafs to win at -166 (1.60) with Bet365.
