John Lineker vs Rob Font Prediction & Betting Odds - UFC Fight Night Preview
June 19, 2019
Lineker took this fight at short notice after Font’s original scheduled opponent, Cody Stamann, was forced to pull out with a shoulder injury. The 29 year-old Brazilian is coming into this fight on the back of a Split Decision defeat to Cory Sandhagen at the end of April, and will see this as an opportunity to quickly return to winning ways.
Font’s last fight was back in December when he won by Unanimous Decision against Sergio Pettis. The 31 year-old American will be looking to avenge a Unanimous Decision loss to Lineker three years ago at UFC 198. That fight was only Font’s third in the UFC and he is clearly far more experienced now.
Lineker comes from a boxing background and, although sometimes a little wild, is therefore strong on his feet where he can put together combinations and numerous hooks.
Font, who has definite one-punch knockout potential himself, won’t want to get drawn into a brawl with Lineker. Font probably has a better variety to his striking and longer reach, but the Brazilian has never been knocked out. Lineker is the more accurate striker and is also capable of overwhelming an opponent once he has them on the back foot.
