Nuggets vs. Spurs Prediction and Betting Odds
April 13, 2019
Denver Nuggets (54-28)
The Denver Nuggets have been one of the better teams in the NBA throughout the season. Head coach Michael Malone has had his team playing so well that the Golden State Warriors didn’t have much wiggle room at the top of the Conference all season.
When the Warriors did struggle, the Nuggets were more than happy to take over as the No.1 team in the West.
They didn’t remain the best in the West and nearly lost their hold on the No. 2 seed down the stretch. If it weren’t for the Houston Rockets blowing a fourth-quarter lead against the Oklahoma City Thunder, they would be the 3-seed instead.
But despite Houston’s loss, they still had to win their last two. While neither game was pretty and saw them fall behind in the fourth quarter, they were able to overcome the deficit to win the game and secure the 2-seed in the playoffs.

San Antonio Spurs (48-34)
After the end of the 2018 playoffs, it looked like it might be the end of an era for the San Antonio Spurs. Their ‘Big Three’ were gone, they failed to win 50+ games for the first time in close to two decades, and the foundation of the team, Kawhi Leonard, wanted out of town.
But they still had one of the best coaches in NBA history on the sideline in Gregg Popovich. They still had some talent on the roster, and they picked up a great player in exchange for Leonard, DeMar DeRozan. It was just going to be a matter of whether Popovich could turn them into a team or not.
While they were not the best at anything, they were good enough at just about everything to win 47 games and secure the No. 7 seed in the playoffs.
But if they are going to advance, Popovich is going to need to figure out how to get a little more from his team on both ends of the court.
