Raptors vs. Celtics Match Preview and Betting Odds 2018/19
January 16, 2019
Leonard hasn’t been ruled out yet, but with how they have been watching his health, it wouldn’t be shocking if they were to hold him out after he experienced some left leg tightness Sunday.
But with how they have been playing lately, they could be fine without him. Yes, even against a good team like the Celtics. Why? Because they have been doing whatever it takes to win during their current streak.
The starting five dominated the Milwaukee Bucks. But against the Pacers and Nets, it was more of a team approach that did the trick with eight guys scoring in double figures. Kawhi Leonard drove the wins against the Hawks and Wizards. One way or another, they are figuring out how to get it done. Some of the wins have been against lesser teams, but they have still played well enough to win.
Boston can’t say the same. They have lost their last three and not to great teams. The Hawks, Nets, and Magic are not bad, but they certainly aren’t good. Lately, the Celtics have been struggling to put a complete game together.
The pressure that comes with high expectations seems to be getting to several of the younger Celtics causing them to play sloppy.
So—who’s going to win?
If you look at Boston’s season as a whole, you can see that they haven’t been great against teams with records better than .500. The Raptors have the best record in the NBA, and their offence is clicking exceptionally well. They shouldn’t have too much trouble with the Celtics.
