Seahawks vs. Cowboys Match Preview and Betting Odds 2018/19
January 02, 2019
The formula for the Dallas Cowboys has been pretty straightforward for most of the season—run the ball and play defense. Overall, it has worked well for them. But while having the No. 6 scoring defense has served them well all season, they needed more than just the No. 10 running game to make the playoffs.
So, they went out and got before the trade deadline in the form of Amari Cooper. Having a true No. 1 receiver made all the difference in the world for the Dallas passing game.
But then the old, ineffective offense reared its ugly head in the Colts game and the defense couldn’t stop the Colts run or passing game. The following week, Jameis Winston threw for 300+ on the Dallas secondary.
Against an offense like what the Seahawks have, the Dallas defense can’t afford to be lax against the run or pass. Chris Carson has developed into a good running back; Seattle had the No. 1 run game during the regular season. Russell Wilson is still capable of working some magic in the passing game when he needs to.
But Dak Prescott has turned in some excellent passing performances in recent weeks. Can the Seattle secondary handle him and keep Ezekiel Elliot in check? Probably not.
Recommended Odds - Seahawks vs. Cowboys
So—who’s going to win?
The Cowboys defense will have some early success against the Seahawks offense, but Russell Wilson will get the ball moving late in the second quarter and keep the game close. It will remain a close game in the second half. But in the end, the Cowboys will walk away with the win.
